Chess

Chess has been a major part of my life for many years and has taken me to competitions around the world. One of my proudest achievements was winning the Girls’ U16 World Youth Chess Championship in 2018, followed by a bronze medal at the European Girls’ U18 Championship in 2019. I hold the Woman International Master (WIM) title and am the strongest female chess player in Belgium. I currently compete for the University of Missouri Chess Team while pursuing my degree in anthropology.
From 2021 to 2023, I worked as a chess coach at Schachzwerge Magdeburg, Germany’s largest chess club, teaching children from kindergarten through high school. I also created and published a course on Chessable dedicated to the Philidor Defense, my favorite chess opening.

Other Hobbies

I love to cook and come up with "better versions" of simple dishes. I am especially passionate about making mashed potatoes and all kinds of pasta. Before discovering my love for Anthropology, I was studying Culinary Arts in Bruges, Belgium.

I enjoy learning new languages and traveling the world. Currently I speak 3 languages: English, German and Dutch. I have also studied French, Russian and Spanish for multiple years.
